Why can't we hit?

 

It seems like a miracle that we even made post-season play, but I’m unsure if that’s a defense of Maineri or an indictment. Losing to Northwestern St would have been worse (that game was in doubt late).

His track record stacks up with the top teams in the nation, but so do his resources. FU is poised to make another run to Omaha; maybe we’re not geographically suited to dominate to the extent FU is? Doesn’t really seem like a legitimate explanation.

Fairly disappointed in how bad we were destroyed by OSU, I’m sure they enjoyed the revenge. Burrow, I mean Ogeron, up next.

You answered your own question injuries and inordinate attrition.

Kramer, Freeman, Deichmann and Paps were the top of the order. Gone. So Josh Smith was to lead this young team and missed all but 5 games.

Not having a good catcher is on mainieri. A good defensive catcher usually translates into a good defensive team. A shitty one does the opposite.

New ss 1b 3b 2b rf and catcher. All 3 starting pitchers gone and the closer bc of Hess.
Clearly a rebuilding year.

No but I realize discussion of firing mainieri is for those of another forum.

 

We have too much going for our program to lose the way we did to OSU. That was unacceptable. Not talking about firing, but that was pathetic...smh

 

Yeah, we should have had a bit more fight. Probably a combination of long travel, 3 games in 24 hours on the heels of SEC tourney run, and just not enough pitching left. We got a lot of hits and players in scoring position, but were only got 4 runs w/ RISP through all 3 games.

Oh, and playing a damn good opponent who was on fire st the plate.

 

The shitty defense is inexcusable. But the outcome was predictable. 6 games in the sec trny then losing Hilliard and Labas on the way to Corvallis.

Oregon St was favored to win the cws before the regionals were even drawn up. For a good reason. I predict they shit the bed and I'll be watching just for that. And hopefully uf too.

Yeah hes only a sophomore. And the MLB draft starts tonight.

Feduccia will likely take whatever is offered if drafted. Watson supposedly returning. Hess and Dup 50/50. Hearing Sanders is gone bc he's dumb ie grades.
