Yeah, great job throwing pitchers until they can't pitch in the regional when it matters because they have arm problems by then.

Plus continuing his stupid bunting with a guy on 2nd and no outs philosophy.

Hilliard and Labas were both freshmen. A high school pitcher pitches a whole lot fewer innings in a season than a starting college pitcher. What are you going to do? Limit freshmen to 100 innings in a season. You put em out there and some will go injury free and some will get a boo boo. Pitchers moving up to the next level need to pitch to get better. Do you blame Pasta Paul for Eric Walker's injury in last year's CWS?

If I knew what situation you were talking about I would either agree or disagree with you.

    Absolutely not.

Come on man. He loves bunting with a man on second and nobody out. He does it all season long, and even our cleanup hitters sac bunt sometimes.

I don't like it either but there are times when it's the right strategy.

I only believe it is right when you have a poor contact hitter up in that situation.

Not always because a poor hitter is up. Man on 2nd, no outs. Late innings. You're down by a run. Or tied or ahead by a run or 2. Cleanup hitter up. He has lots of power but strikes out a lot. But not a terrible bunter. Do you let him swing away or play to advance the runner to 3rd and increase the chances of scoring that run?

I let him hit to try to start a big inning. If he is hitting clean up, he should be a clutch hitter who can drive the ball to the gaps. College baseball isn't friendly to 1 run leads even in the 9th.
