cmon with all the savages in town and reported mayhem in baton rouge, surely one person here has been mugged. theres 1000s of stories just no one to back em up.
I am washing some clothes at a friends house who has power in Spanish Town. They just had a neighborhood meeting and it was attended by a police spokesman who said exactly ONE person at the River Center had been arrested for a crime and that all of the other stories were just BS. The people in the centers have security and are under control. Now, there are people up from New Orleans who are on their own with no particular place to go and the police are watching for trouble, but nothing "major" has happened.
it won't happen... this is too much of a classy place... It doesn't have that natural stink the French Quarter has to satisfy their tastes! lol nah, I don't see it happening... This is too much of a town atmosphere, not enough of a ghetto scene
I was at the Spanish Moon last night and this girl comes in crying. She and her three friends were robbed in the parking lot. Two black guys pulled up in a car and pulled out a gun and demanded their purses. Three of them gave them up willingly but one of them refused. They grabbed the purse while she was still holding it and hit the accelerator nearly dragging her with them. Then they almost ran over one of the other girls. There was little that could be done save for call the cops and make a police report. This is the first incident like this at the Moon that I'm aware of. There was supposed to be an armed guard in the parking lot, but I don't believe he was there yet.
And those could have been the basic Baton Rouge thug that did that. I am not saying that I don't feel for those girls, but they don't know where the thugs came from. I didn't say that they were New Orleans refugees, I was just reporting that there was a mugging. However, the Moon is just minutes away from the River Center. Not saying that it's correlated, though. But, the first thing that goes out the window in a war is the truth. And I'm sure there are things they aren't telling us to prevent mass hysteria. I'm holding out hope that things will calm down in the next few weeks (if not days).
My gf told me yesterday that one of our friends that evacuated to hotel in Texas had everything they had left with was stolen out of their hotel room while they were at dinner. It kind of sucks that you make it out alive with your possessions and now those things are gone as well. Their house was completely destroyed so what they had with them was really the only things they had left.
