I brought up this point A while back about the other DB's cutting their teeth under PP7 who I believe was a pretty humble and willing big brother kind of player and was mocked by a ducks fan a while back. I think it does matter. What happens when you throw these kind of players into an ultra competitive environment against other elite players? Doesn't this breed more and more excellence? For lack of a better explanation. Just thought it was significant. The ducks fan didn't. How could it not make for better players if u play with a guy like PP7 especially if those players are already extremely talented? Thoughts?
Pp7 taught these young men how hard work can pay off. The saw how he excelled and they want to be like him. He probably taught then how to play the position also to an extent. What he did most is show them what true excellence is and gave them a set bar to strive to reach. Pp7 is what we all wish we had the talent to be. These kids do have that talent. They must work for it. Pp worked his azz off to be the best. They have someone to emulate.
Please somebody help....I've been reading predictions and all I see is how we will lose by 21, and Auburn is a better team than LSU will ever be. Everything I read has U of O as being too much for LSU. I hope we knock the snot out of the Ducks!! I like the Duck fans we have on board, but the ones I was reading are just obnoxious.:rofl:
The wvu puddies said all the same shizt. Don't worry. Lsu's defense will be there all night. I think we play nickle all night and tyrannosaurus won't let them breathe. We are going to play hard. We lost to the national champs last year by 7 in their house. We beat Alabama and Florida. The ducks are just another great team we play. Nothing diffrent here than what we do every year. This isn't even our biggest game of the regular season. We will be foaming at the mouth waiting for lsu-bama,#1vs#2, to play later in the season. Our defense will be too strong. Our entire first string defense could be benched and we still would have a top 50 defense. It's all good.
Lee Sounds Ready.......:thumb: BATON ROUGE — Jarrett Lee won't forget the 2008 season, when LSU fans mockingly inserted the words "pick six" between his first and last names. LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee is ready to bounce back from a tough 2008 season. The Tigers' newly promoted starting quarterback doesn't sound bitter about it, though. "I don't want to say I was set up to fail," Lee said, reflecting on his interception-plagued redshirt freshman season, when he was thrust into the starting lineup because of a combination of junior Ryan Perrilloux's dismissal and sophomore Andrew Hatch's injury. "Coming into this league and being in the SEC, it can be tough," Lee said. "Sometimes things happen and you've got to go in there and you've got to play and do what you can, and I don't regret 2008 at all. If anything, it made me a better person, a better player." "I just keep it in the back of my mind," Lee said. "I don't want those things to happen again." "There were some games back in 2008 that I guess I had seen some moments where I knew I could make it happen, and so that's something, too, that I know I belong and I know I can make those plays," Lee said. "I've just got to stay focused and stay positive." Lee said he has worked hard the past two seasons on numerous aspects of his game. He said he has lost weight, which has helped him become a better scrambler. He said he is more mature, both emotionally and in his approach to studying and learning the game. He went so far as to say he is "tremendously different" from the player he was in 2008. "I've been around and in this system for five years now," Lee said. "I've worked with these guys before, so it's not like I'm coming into the first team and everything is new to me."
I'm where you are Winston -- cautiously optimistic is the way I describe it. I think the adversity of the past couple of weeks will have the Tigers pumped, but you can be too pumped and play out of control. I believe the key for this game is for the D to be disciplined in their assignments. I was just watching a video by an Oregon dude named Fishduck analyzing their triple option. If we don't stick to our assignments, stay home when we're supposed to or try to take the pitch man when we're supposed stay with the QB, they will gash us. When you get too pumped and you're ready to kill, maim and destroy, you can easily find yourself out of position. I'm ready for some REAL football! :geaux:
Folks, Huge duck fan here. You heard it here first. Ducks have a high flying offense, but on the big stage like the natty, and rose bowl, they will score half of their normal points. factor in new lines that are un proven, I am not sure what the hell is going to happen but here is my prediction: Ducks: 24 LSU: 21 Ducks will be nervous and probably fumble the ball and will score maybe a field goal only in the first quarter. I hope lamichael james can run against the beastly LSU defense. LJ has trouble against auburn, ohio state and boise state. all similar lines to LSU. bottom line, LSU is a great team and I think your 2nd string QB is better than your 1st string... but I am hopeful the ducks will prevail, but it will be closer......so close.. have a great one!!!! I am nervous Buford in Seattle
