Game week!!! I'm so ready! Changed the oil on the car, rotated the tires, and even put new front brakes on for the drive to Arlington. First offensive play will be a 60 yrd post complete to RR. Just to show them we can!

I know Tusk, they make us wait so long for football and then they jam all the good games on at one time. They need to spread it out!
But then again it's the prime time slot.

Week One Jitters are upon me. Although, I wont lie, with all of the crap that has surrounded us the past few weeks, I just dont feel like we as a team are going to be able to pull it all together, and have all the kinks worked out in time to beat Oregon. I think we are going to put up one hell of a fight, but I just dont see us and Jarrett Lee coming out firing on all cylinders, enough to knock off Oregon.

The pressure is on the Ducks, just like the pressure was on us last year

If we are plus 3 that means that Oregon is favored by 3

I truly hope that for Jarrett Lee this can become a Cinderella story like season for him. In 2008 he was just a freshman sitting on the bench with a clipboard trying to learn the system. He was thrown in to the wolves to attempt to carry an LSU program coming off a national championship year, with a huge target on its back. As an 18 year old freshman, he was brand new to the team, the system, the coaching staff, he was tossed in where he threw for 1875 yards, 13 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, 7 that were returned for touchdowns.

Now he has been given an opportunity to step up and not just fill the shoes left behind by Jefferson, but he has been given a shot at redemption. After the worst series of games this kid played in his entire football career, after being booed off the field by 90,000 plus screaming fans, after reading and listening to the criticism in the papers and on TV, he stood his ground, he didn’t quit, he didn’t transfer, he never even thought about transferring. He stood proud and backed up and supported Jefferson through the thickest of times for JJ as well. He stepped on the field when JJ was booed off, he brought LSU to 4 come from behind 4th quarter victories, at many times last season out playing Jefferson by far and yet, when the depth chart was released the following week, Lee was again number 2. But never the less he was back on the practice field putting in no less than 100%, a side JJ and the coaches on game day in full support, still no complaining, still no thoughts of transferring, just 100% support for his school, coaches, team, fans, and all of tiger-nation.

As I said before, he is not just any backup quarterback, this is not just an opportunity for him to step in while JJ is out, this is an opportunity for him to get that rare second chance that almost every athlete dreams of having. He has to be one of the most supportive, humble, respective, and now one of my favorite tigers of all time.
