I think you don’t understand, I clearly put in my post that I do not condone or approve of that type of behavior, and that it happens everywhere. I don’t think that I could have been anymore clear, I’m not sure you get it. I didn’t take offense to your post, rather just letting you know that it’s not a great idea to sum us all up into one group (Your Words, not Mine ^^ See above). We have varieties of fans and unfortunately we have our bad ones. Sorry if I confused you, I never have been good at first impressions, If it makes you feel any better, I’d say that LSU is a great school for your daughter. I am sorry you witnessed that, 99% of the people that visit our fans on game day say that Baton Rouge is full of great fans, and a lot of fun. I’d say 99% of Tiger grads, are Tigers for life. If your daughter decides to attend, the chances of your grandchildren attending are above 75% Who knows, you may have a grandchild playing ball for LSU one day
Perhaps.....you are right. No I am not a troll and yes I chose this forum for a reason (I have many friends that attended LSU who told me to ask on this forum as they too were disappointed). Yes, I am a Medical Professional (even though my choice of diction and conjugation contradict at times but not as excessive as you would suggest) but I typed all of this quickly while multi-tasking (I still am). I guess I didnt get my education down when it came to posting correctly. I thought free-lance english was sort of par for the course in blogs. Good luck with the rest of your season as this was simply a desire to understand what shocked me nothing more. See you at the stadium for the Florida game!!
Don’t listen to those that harp about typo's and what not. Again, it is very disappointing to hear about your experience, I am not defending any idiot that acts that way. But I do feel the need to defend my university, alumni, and fellow football fans that I know are downright genuine and hospitable. I have seen drunk idiot fans being drunk idiot fans, but have never witnessed, jumping on cars, throwing beer cans, or screaming at families. I am not saying it didn’t happen, just never seen that in BR. Perhaps there were some perpetrators in Dallas, we have a ton of Bandwagon and T-shirt fans who love to jump on the LSU wagon when we dominate, especially given the fact we started the season ranked in the top 5. I think that your friends were right on the money by referring you to this particular forum, give it some time, some great people will be login on here shortly and show you why I stay on here. Hopefully you will find it useful as the Florida game approaches. As for the Florida game, it’s a great rivalry, always a great game and most certainly will be a different atmosphere in BR than what you witnessed in Dallas (Hopefully) One thing that you mentioned that will never go away, is the "Tiger Bait" chant, I don’t think that will ever be laid to rest and I’ve learned to live with it.
Multi tasking here too and maybe I am wrong. But sorry, I don't believe you or your story. Nothing about it sounds true.
I'm sure our fans were hospitable for the most part but I saw the bad behavior first hand. I was also there with family the entire day. The bad stuff I witnessed was borderline assault. Pretty embarrassing but as I stated in a previous post, every team has these kinds of fans. The incidents I saw all involved young people that were surely lit.
Maybe your daughter would do better at a convent. Football schools around the country, all of them, have these problems with some of their fans. I'm a recent LSU fan because my good friend's son plays for them. He decided to sign on his first visit to LSU because the fans were so head and shoulders above the rest. Since I've been here I have found the LSU fans to be the best fans in college football today. Most knowledgeable, too.
i just wanna know how i NEVER see tiger fans exhibit this extreme behavior at LSU games. opposing fans get tiger baited and then showered in food and booze. oh no! i went to the game, stayed at the crowne plaza off i-30. after the game, we were at the hotel bar minding our own biz and talking amongst ourselves when an angry, drunk duck fan got right in my face and started talking sh!t...i literally had never seen this dude before, let alone say anything to him. i had to leave the bar immediately to avoid going to jail in texas, the last place i wanted to be. i cooled off outside and met an awesome oregon fan who had nothing but nice things to say about us and our win and he left a great impression on me. it goes both ways for all teams. LSU fans are loud and perhaps obnoxious but that's how we are down here. new orleans wouldn't be what it is without these people, and nobody complains about us there. sounds like sour grapes to me.
