I'd say they made the right choice but that is what you don't understand, there wasn't any choice to make Harden was leaving, wanted out. They could have kept him for 1 more year but them he was gone as FA.

Well after shaq it went to the finesse big man, Tim Duncan, Dirk, Pau and Marc Gasol, but Golden State is proving you don't need that. You have to have outstanding guard play, and a guy who can score off isolation close and away from the basket, the big man is only there to pull down rebounds and finsh missed shots.
