Part of the problem is Freak and Ego are our "best" players on defense, but they are not dominating like D-linemen of the past, like Dorsey and company. They need to be constant disruptors on defense which frees other players to make plays. Then the question becomes do these other guys get to the QB when the opportunity is there. Freak has definitely been somewhat underwhelming.
LSU has lost two fumbles within 30 minutes of play (see TCU late 3rd quarter). I don't know if we even lost 5 fumbles all last year.
