I've never once started a thread complaining about the refs in any particular game. Just to give you a reference point. But here we are.
False start not called on FU. Then called another false start on FU only after it was apparent they had to call it. It totally sucked. About as bad as I expected though, no excuse to lose.
Saw some bad calls, didn’t like the spot on a 3rd and short, but they kind of bailed us out on the offsetting penalty late too. Should have just been on us.
Late hit out of bounds on Burrow. That's always called. Bogus holding call on Charles on the huge pass play to Moreau.
Slice it any way you like and nobody can say that you are dead wrong BUT man, this is a bad loss. Just when the team was gaining steam and momentum on the whole season, they have to go and lose to an underdog. Yikes. This is a set-back.
I don’t like blaming losses on refs. Florida had more penalties called than we did but it was a very poorly officiated game (as to be expected with the shitty SEC refs) Some shit I saw today: Missed false start on UF left tackle on a critical play. Late hit on Burrow out of bounds Bad spot on the 3rd down that led to a FG for us 2 UF players threw punches only one was flagged but neither were ejected PI on a deep ball to Jefferson where his arm was clearly being held Multiple missed Holding Calls on UF’s o-line all damn day. I’m sure I missed some and sure there were some that went our way too. But not many.
This loss may be blamed for a derailment spiral but that could also be pinned on the schedule. UF, UGA, State, Bama. Let’s be honest, splitting those 4 is a win for this team. Watching Auburn get punked tonight and Miami nearly shitting the bed against FSU, were we really all that good to begin with? Damn sure weren’t the 5th best team in the country. And This defense is NOT as good as I thought it would be. Not even close. I don’t like the 3-4
