The only reason you don't hate bammer more than AU

I agree with that position completely........it's called perspective and it's a good thing. :wink:

No i'm an Alabama fan for the same reason a lot of people are fans of other teams, because of my parents. They were Alabama fans, i grew up hearing and watching alabama games, so there for i'm an Alabama fan. Its the same reason a vast majority of people are whatever religion they are. Now some people are converted but much of it comes from the community. Of course if i grew up in BR and had parents who had graduated from LSU i would probably be an LSU fan.

 

and that makes it irrelevant how? i understand in terms of recruiting, but in the terms of rivals you can't just throw it out.

 

Here here matie!!! Fear not, I'm not going to bring up the past. This is your board and your rules so we'll use your standard of measure. You've been the bad ass of the SEC West for about five years now and frankly we've been mediocre to borderline sucking. But that's fine. We've paid our dues and I'm optimistic about our future. We've got a grand opportunity to become "relevant" again this Saturday and I hope we make the best of it.

To those of us who lived through those years, it's a rival. The one game I'd hate losing the most, year in and year out- SEC implications aside.

 

I love it!!! Hell, I figure if other fanbases start ganging up to "hate" you then you must be doing some right for a change. I'm just enjoying the excitement surrounding the game. It sure beats being 3-5 and not having something to play for. Could be a heckuva lot worse for us roll-tards. :insane:

I put hate in quotes to not mean literally but in a rival manner. Sorry for the confRUSION.

 

They'll probably just speak of their 'tremendous' football 'tradition' as an example.

Seriously, I've never run into a more uptight, self-conscious, and insecure fan base in my entire life. AU will never amount to anything if they are always looking west to Tuscaloosa. They need to try and do something for the betterment of themselves and not to the detriment of Alabama.
