I want the starting Qb to be the one who gives us the best chance to win. I think thats the "smart" thing to do. Anything less would be unwise.
RP was the #1 recruited dual purpose quarterback in the Nation two years ago and piled up mucho yardage rushing as well as he did passing. (I don't recall the #'s but they were impressive). :thumb:
Here's a link on his bio: http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticl...64&DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=174063&Q_SEASON=2006
As it has been every year in recent memory. I can't remember when there wasn't some sort of QB "controversy."
So that confirms what I thought about RP, but what about MF? My only real exposure to him has been the Peach Bowl, and if I recall, he didn't run all that much. I mean, he scrambled when he had to, and very effectively, but he also had no problem putting it in the air. Not like running was his first option every snap.
Starting Flynn may be both the right and smart thing to do. We know inexperienced QBs don't usually fair all that well in the SEC. Flynn doesn't have a ton of experience, but RP has virtually none. It'll be Flynn's job to lose. I think the VT game will decide if he keeps it the rest of the year.
I guess I'm just wondering because a previous posted said they were too much alike to be used in a two QB system. Are they really that similar?
