What I've said is I still have doubts about his ability, but I've also stated that the key to winning is maintaining a good staff around him. I've based that on the 28-21 record he had at OSU. New conference, new environment.

No doubt, the jury is still out, in my opinion. He's done well the last two years.[/quote]

You have to put that record into perspective. Miles' record at OSU is better than Jimmy Johnson's was, and we know what he accomplished with Miami.

Oklahoma St is just not a program that it is easy to win at.

And all things considered, I take it as a compliment that Bama didn't think Miles was worthy, because their ability to pick head coaches has obviously not been very good.

Especially with competing with Stoops for recruits.......and Miles still had Stoops' #.

Everyone knows that records/stats are numbers and don't always tell the tale.

    OUCH! :hihi:

JJ left Dallas for the phins, saban left LSU for the phins. Neither could recapture their magic in Miami. JJ had the good sense to just retire and not further tarnish his image as a coaching genius.

    Terry said:

7 games over .500 just isn't a record that makes me think he was such a great coach.

And the Gumps just spent $32 Million on a coach who's most recent outting is 2 games BELOW.500.

Oh, now I get it. Gumps coach GOOD, LSU's coach BAAADD!!!!

Thanks for making this point of contention Crystal :crystal: Clear! :D

The Saban hate, the Saban hate, the Saban hate...aaaahh...it's beating like a drum in my mind. Just...can't...stop...it...

Saban is...all we think of...anymore. Whatever will we do. So consumed with hate, I feel like writing more posts and more threads about how much we hate Saban.

Miles was 7 games over .500 at O.K. State, Saban 10 games over at MIch state, so WTF?

Please, give me one, just one, example of how coaching in the NFL is comparable with college football.
