1. Well you could say that about any premier program really. I am no OU fan but they do have local talent. Matter of fact Sam Bradford is from OKC (20 minutes away) and that huge TE is from Ardmore. Heck Bradford is a Native American. You cannot get any more Oklahoma then that.
They do recruit well in Texas, this is true.
But before we chuck stones how many QBs for LSU have been from outside Louisiana (Flynn, Mauck, Davey, Russell, Lee, etc) I think Jordan Jefferson is the first in awhile.
Or our team in general. Tyson Jackson, Peterson, Tolliver ?.....

Fact is IF you want to compete you HAVE to recruit outside of your state, more so when its Oklahoma, when just south of you is the premier high school football state in the nation. We should know we recruit the crap out of it.....

Not defending Norman here, but it has essentially become a suburb of OKC. I have been there a few times, its actually a pretty nice place.
  2. Yes and USC is going to get penalized for Reggie Bush getting hundreds of thousands too right. Many people fail to realize that the NCAA in no way shape or form resembles the criminal justice system of your local, state or federal government. The NCAA is a corrupt organization that operates more like the mob than the law. I wouldn't count on any ramifications unless someone in one of the programs in question has done something to pi$$ someone in the NCAA off like Dale Brown and Jerry Tarkanian(sp). Neither did anything close to what Michigan Basketball did and both programs nearly got the death penalty while Michigan got a free pass. The NCAA history book is filled with similar disparities. Never count on the NCAA to do the right thing or the fair thing JMO.
  3. Well, I don't know if the NCAA's going to do squat, but I'll bet you anything the family is going to be mighty uncomfortable in the state of Texas.

    Here's another reaction:

Even Aggie boards are calling the story bogus and the mother's claims nuts, and you know if they smell it, then it really stinks.

    Interesting stuff.

Good luck with the family, OU.
  4. About 90Z% of their team is from the Oklahoma/Texas area. Exactly what is questionable about that? Throw in that Jackie Shipp is one of the best recruiters in the nation and they've been in the BCS CG game four times (the most of any school) and I don't see why recruits wouldn't want to go to OU.
  5. Do we really want a mama's boy? He seems to lack backbone and decision making.

His response to the Longhorns continually calling him, “Mama, I don’t even feeling like going,” McFarland told his mother. “I don’t want to do it.”

Mama said, mama said....go to OU

  6. Damn straight! Nice...:thumb:
  7. Only 18% of their current roster is from Oklahoma. Maybe they've been to the BCS game 4 times because of illegal recruiting. Oklahoma is no more attractive than Texas or A&M. I don't know Jackie Shipp from adam but recruiting is always easier when someone is paying players. (and no I'm not saying Shipp pays players)

It's a little more than my opinion. This website ranked them the #2 dirtiest program.

Oklahoma has always been dirty. That list is just the things they were caught for.

Feel free to keep defending them though. Why don't you tell us next how OJ is innocent.

  9. So Washington is stealing 2 star recruits from people?

    My word.
