True, but you do want to take a 10 day rest. Maybe if it would be 5, but 10 can hurt your competitive mindset.

But the winner of every conference tourny gets an automatic NCAA bid...so, it's not a waste of time....and if you were a fan of a team on the bubble, winning the automatic bid wouldn't be considered "lame".

olVENICE dog, realize what you are saying here. If LSU was say like 18-11 and the only shot at getting in the tourney was to win the Tournament, you would not be stating that the tournament is a waste of time. You would be all for it. I too am skeptical of LSU playing in the tourament, because I do not want anyone getting hurt, but this how it goes and it should be. First you win your conference tornamment + the Big Show= damn good team. If anyone is stupid it is you.

Every team in the country plays in these tournaments. LSU used to depend on the tourny to get into the NCAA, now that we win the conference, we should hide so that we are cold for the NCAA. I don't think we should play our big name guys the whole games but, we have a good shot at winning it all this year and thats something worth seeing. Also, the tourny would be an excellent time to let Voogd get some real playing time (30-40 min). Not to mention winning the tourny can help seeding even though the improvement is not that great. One more thing, Fleshman might get in.

    BTW: It's waste, not waist.

as Al Davis said.. just win baby... winning breeds winning... I think the biggest thing for us to worry about is the teams we will play in the tourney.. Can we get that elusive easy first game. I am hoping we just don't have to go to a high altitude venue again. Big Baby don't do so well at 6500 Feet above the sea....
