1. I disagree about Elway. I think he was a great (carry the team on your shoulders) QB before Shanahan arrived. After that, he was more of a strong armed game manager. The running game won those Super Bowls.

    I think Brees/Payton is closest to Montana/Walsh. Too bad we didn't have these guys earlier in their careers.
  2. Yes, I believe Fouts/Coryell should be mentioned in this category.
  3. Gets Sean's coffee, laminates the play sheet, ties Sean's shoes, etc.

    I'm not talking about Shanahan the Head Coach in the 90's; I'm talking about Shanahan the Offensive Coordinator of the Bronos in the 80's. You could probably make the argument for Shanahan and Steve Young as well. Steve Young was always good in San Francisco, but he played from another world when Shanahan was the OC/QB Coach. That team held the most points scored in a season record until the Pats recently beat with by a few points.
