I have noticed a pattern develop with SF...He loves to slowly develop his underdog championing here on TF... He slowly but surely warmed to John Brady, two years ago flat out denying that he was a "Brady fan" but against those who would demean him...Gradually moving steadfastly into the column of stark-raving Brady lunatic fringe member... Now, watch you guys...SabanFan will begin to mildly talk about how, "Who should we believe? The practice reports of fans here on TF, or Steve Schnieder of WAFB and his practiced eye?" In a few months, as fall camp begins, he will have become the undisputed Matt Flynn Champion of Tiger Forums, and when the doors are blown off of Flynn, he'll stubbornly hold that Flynn wasn't given the opportunity in the rush to crown Russell the Chosen One, and then once JR leaves and RP takes over, he'll even grumble about Flynn being the forgotten man... Save us all the nuance and buildup, SabanFan, your routine's already moldy and old...
Whoa, touched a nerve, did I? It was an honest question. 2 Different views of the same situation. Thicken up your skin there young fella. TE: F*ck off.
To take over for Grad... SabanFan...How are these two views? Flynn: Two picks, ZERO TOUCHDOWNS, to every observer other than Schneider, none said he was BAD, just not as GOOD. Russell: Four Touchdowns, ZERO interceptions, to every observer other than Schneider, none said as good, all said MUCH BETTER. Now, "Who to believe?" LOL!
Well, all of these first hand witnesses to the results of today pale in comparison to Steve Schneider's Live Gum Chewing While Reporting From the Sugar Bowl in '01 quarterback savant seeing eye... Besides, SabanFan will tell you just like martin will...Nothing on this board that doesn't come with an LSUsports.net link attached is official or can be trusted...He doesn't even know why he comes here!
My take of the spring game. I hope it is not ran this way next year. It was very difficult for the fans to follow and was just not the same. Enough about that. For now Russell is the undisputed leader when it comes to the QB position. JR has improved greatly in his timing and was a joy to watch in the pocket. I don't have much doubt that he is going to be our go to guy next year. Flynn looked great also, I would compare him to the way Russell was a year ago. Timing was off and he just didn't seem as comfortable as Russell. Wide Recievers - Holy Crap!!! We are loaded. Running Backs - (see wide recievers comment above) The O - Line was alittle off at times. QB's found themselvs pressured more than I would like to see. However, they were going against our starting defense. :thumb: Defense as a whole - Backs played very well, tons of speed and aggressive. There were a couple of awsome picks made that left me asking myself how in the world they were able to get in position to do that. The D - Line played very aggresive and put our offense to the test. Without a doubt we are going to be hard to run on next year and if they want to put the ball up, our backs are going to have a hay day. The defense is solid. You can tell a huge difference in the intensity level between this team and last years in the spring game. Players were going full speed and hitting extremely hard. I didn't see anyone holding back. As far as the jogging back to huddle and hands on hips, I chalk this up to the players giving it their all. Execution and intensity overall were much better than I have witnessed in any spring game/scrimmage ever. I didn't care for the format but the players seem to be getting alot out of it, and that's really all that matters. I met Gradin99 today and really enjoyed talking to him and his girlfriend. We need to try and get more of us together at some of these events. I like putting faces to peoples comments.
Sorry about spelling and grammer above, I just walked in the door. We stayed and watched one hell of a baseball game. I'll talk about it more later.
