    I actually read this the opposite way. I thought they lined up for a fake, but called the timeout to back out of it because they didn't like the way the defense lined up.

    Agree. My guess is that 99% of everyone thought they might be rethinking the defensive line-up and possibly reconsidering going for the first down.

    The fake FG at that point took enormous guts, and the second guesser experts (negabiotches) will say it was poor clock management and irresponsible play calling.

    But considering the chances of a 53 yd fg (by a college kicker), I can see why they decided to go for the first down - and I LOVED the way they did it.

    Congrats to Les Miles and the coaching staff on a well executed game plan.

    I'd say that they account for quite a bit of threads. Most of it reaction to ESPN's crap - except in this case.
