LSU and Auburn both first football teams were in 1892. LSU didn't play a game in 1892 due to not being able to find a varsity opponent. So LSU only played 1 or 2 inter squad scrimmages. Auburns first game was played in Feb 1892.

Auburn first teams nickname were Plainsmen.

So what color do you see when you look at a Bengal Tiger? Surely its not orange like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh fame?

And Coonass is considered a term of endearment in S. Louisiana. If someone is offended at being termed a coonass, then its probably because they aren't one. :)

Not worth arguing since it's all in fun but according to NCAA records:

    2/20/92 Auburn 10-Georgia 0 in Atlanta (Auburn's first game)

    11/25/93 Tulane 34-LSU 0 in New Orleans (LSU's first game,21 months later)

To my knowledge, Auburn's teams have never used the nickname "Plainsmen."
Auburn people, as a group, are sometimes referred to as The Plainsmen even today. As you may know the student newspaper is called "The Plainsman."

Do you have a different source of info?

I hate to tell you but according to NCAA records the original Tigers, the Princeton ones, have more NCs than any other school, something like 18
