The three biggest surprises [of 2005] will be? LSU won't be overwhelming.

Bingo! Sometimes I think that these "talking heads" are just yanking people's chains--they obviously can't be serious.

Yeah but I don't think that they all have to pick the same thing. I think, as a consensus, they picked us to go undefeated....But this guy obviously is voicing the minority for CFBNews...

The overall consensus over at CFB News is that LSU will be in the Rose Bowl mix. Zemek is the least credible, from what I can gather and Harris has a northeast, Big 10, Penn State lean. Fiu is the lead dog. I would say Cirminiello Zemek and are on the next tier, followed by Harris. Still, I would put more stock in any of these guys rather than clowns like Dennis Dodd or Trev. Overall, CFB News rocks!

The thing that gets me, is that no one is willing to go out on a branch & say that Meyer's offense won't succeed in the SEC.

I'll be the first one then:

Urban Meyer will suddenly wake up and realize that he doesn't play BYU every week soon...

He will have a HARD time at UF... book it...

I need to preface this post by saying that I'm sick to death of hearing about Urban-renewal, etc.

However, there is no debating his prior success. Taking Utah to a BCS bowl and then beating Pitt the way that team did is a huge accomplishment and he should be given high praise for it. Furthermore, we would all have been nearly wetting ourselves with excitement had he come to LSU.

The fact is, he's not stupid. My guess is, if his offense doesn't show results in the SEC, he'll modify to fit the skills of his players and the skills of the conference. If he doesn't, he'll fail and the hype will have been just that.

Also, maybe even as early as next year, watch and see if LSU doesn't start running plenty of the spread offense. If RP is really all-world, that run-pass from the shotgun offense seems perfect for his talents. Look what it did for Alex Smith, who I'd bet has less pure physical talent than RP.

Why hide the truth. Let's face it, no team on their schedule is a threat to USC, plain and simple.

Look, these guys have to churn content for this site year-round, a site dedicated to not only one sport, but one level of one sport.

All they're doing is giving takes in support of every possible angle so, on one level or another, they can always say, "I told you back in August this would happen..."
