This may well be the worst #3 ranked Bama team ever... ranked by the default of others.

No offense.... and pretty much the same guys on defense that Minnesota ran for 276 yards on last bowl season.

LSU will score more than 20 points.
Bama will score less than 14 points.
book it... pay off your car.

This is Alabama and they are a top-10 team with the #1 scoring defense. I do think the stats are interesting, perhaps revealing. But it is a mistake to write off the Bama defense because of them. It doesn't neccessarily mean that they can't also defend against a better offense.

    We'll find out on Saturday.

Minnesota had a good game against us last year, true. But their running backs and offensive line were better than LSU's are this year. Plus that was one game, a game from last year. Bama's defense isn't smoke and mirrors and if you think it is then you haven't watched them play. They have given up 1 TD in the last 20 quarters, 19 points in the last 5 games combined, forced at least 1 turnover in 24 straight games, and they're either #1 or #2 in total defense and #1 or #2 in scoring defense giving up around 9 points a game. They're experienced, they're talented, and they're fairly deep. Make no mistake about it, they're going to be the best defense this LSU team has faced all year and it's going to be in front of a very loud and hostile crowd. LSU's offense won't light up the scoreboard but with Bama's offense that doesn't exactly translate into a W for the Tide.

I agree. We just don't know what they will do against a better offense... until about Saturday.

The only way LSU loses this game is if they hand Bama the ball about three times on their side of the 50.
... and, yes, I've watched you guys enough this year to say I'm far from impressed... not that you're not good, just that you are nowhere near the #3 team in the country... you're fixin to lose two in a row...that will get you ranked about right.

Oklahoma had a vaunted defense in 2003, probably more hyped than Bama's, but Kstate and LSU had no problems. I think the hype was a result of media oversight on Okie's schedule when the Big 12 then was a joke all around. There is probably some merit to these numbers.

I will give you "Bammers" that you have a quick and aggressive Defense and you can make weaker opponents look silly. But, the only way Bama can score is with their Defense. Miss. State kept imploding last week. I look for a HUGE game out of the LSU Defense and that will be the deciding factor.
    LSU 31
    Bama 10

Bama could lose to LSU and AU both, it's very possible. But I don't see it happening. My question is, why is an Iowa fan on an LSU forum talking about the upcoming Bama game? I guess you're tired of talking about your huge disaster of a team. I believe yall were preseason #3 in the Athlon rankings and what's your record now, 6-3, 5-4?...I don't really know because I don't go to Iowa forums and talk Iowa football. I guess it's difficult to see a team go from unranked to #3 when your team was #3 and now unranked.

31 points out of LSU's offense huh? Well Bama has given up 32 points in the last 6 games combined so that would be quite a game from LSU. I'm not sure why yall think LSU's offense is so amazing, didn't yall just put up 24 on APPST at home? Now you think you can play the #1 defense in the country and put up 31 at their house? Yall put up 17 in regulation against the best defense yall have seen so far in AU, at home, and Bama's D is better than AU's. Hell, AU just gave up 27 to UK's offense. Your offense is average, they are penalty and turnover prone as well. And yall wanna talk about how Bama's defense is overrated, how about your's? I keep hearing that LSU's defense is so good but ASU lit yall up, AU gained almost 500 yards total and Irons ran all over your d-line to the tune of 220 yards. No team has done that to us yet.

The reason Miami is rated above Bama is because of the impression they made against V Tech. They dominated them.

We could very well do the same thing this weekend at Bama's homefield and that would make a huge impression!

So you're looking at the stretch run of us and Miami battling for third place.
It's just about a definite lock that it will be USC and Texas in the Rose.

I'm asking because I don't know.......but what will the bowl picture be for us if we wind up third in the BCS or fourth?
