I don’t know that an OSU Big 10 champion beats us in. They are 3 spots below us, have probably the worst loss in the top 10, and they have multiple close calls against bad teams. It’s better if northwestern wins the Big 10, but if OSU does, I don’t know that they jump us.
So let's say WVU wins out, and after today they will be #15, maybe even worse. It was a bad loss. Can they climb back 11 spots in 2 weeks? Texas is looking like the team that will win that championship game right now. They would definitely have payback on their mind in a rematch vs WVU, should WVU beat Oklahoma.
I don't think we would stand a chance against the rematch vs bama, which is what would happen. But I sure wouldn't mind finding out if I'm wrong.
If all of this happens, will the committee look at an LSU Alabama rematch and say no thanks? They have put themselves in a position of possibly having to reneg on their ultimate respect for LSU and our 'body of work'.
The committee can do anything they want. They could put LSU #3 and Notre Dame #4 if it would make for better ratings for an LSU-Clemson matchup.
