The guy is what he is. He was never an outstanding back. He's an average back in all aspects of the game. I dont see why you people keep bringing up '03, Vincent had huge holes to run through, therefore, his numbers made him a freshman all-american. The kid was never fast. I wish him the best though.

clairice is so fitting I think Ill stick with it not to mention its pretty much your name anyhow and it wasnt intended to be used as a joke. plus it reminds me of hannibal lecter. i agree with IOFTHETYGR's assessment. Although he was MVP of both the Sugar and the SECCG he's not a dominant back and never will be. though its likely we need shyrone as a change of pace this weekend if we want to win so i hope he can escape the doghouse of hannibal lester.
who said he was fast? Most everyone including myself simply said he's simply slower than before then you chime in with your guarantees. you know like when you were RP's teammate in high school? you need to learn when to shut up. you remind me of a little dog that yaps and needs to be punted across the room sometimes.
you remind me of the guy in the back of the class that no one talks to that is a cyber nerd! Go out... go to the bball game with me tonight! I'll even buy your ticket Someone calls you out, then you just try to be funny, because you can't argue with someone, because heaven forbid someone think different than you... And I say TRY very loosely 95% of the people on the thread here echoed what I said, yet you ONLY call me out... I love it! hahah
lmao i have a mortgage to pay and Im at work. Clairice, you probably need to worry about getting laid. I mean cmon man, your picture is worth 1000 celibate words.
I think Vincent hesitates more than he used to. I think fumbling last year (and some this year) and not seeing the field led to a little lack of confidence. So he doesn't hit the hole as fast as he used to. However, he really has never been a back that just flies from the backfield. He needs a little hole and then he puts on his moves. Unfortunately, this year's O-line is better at pass-blocking than run-blocking, so he doesn't get enough room to shift and he's waiting too long for a hole (that probably won't exist to open up). Also, I do think he lost just a little bit of speed since his freshman year, but not that much. And let me say, Vincent was an outstanding back (and special teams player) in 2003. It wasn't just because of the O-line. The O-line was great, but no other backs (Addai, Broussard or Carey) ran for the type of yards Vincent ran for that year and they all had their chances. And there were some awesome runs where no one blocked (2nd long run in SECCG) and it was all him. I think LSU needs to get him the ball in open spaces like they did against Bama. That's when he shows his speed and moves. And Vincent is still decently fast. Oh, and he was caught from behind in the NC because he kept looking back. All track coaches will tell you to never do that because it slows you down. But true, he's not Willie Gault.
