Let's face it, Pokey was out-coached the last six seconds of that game... She should have used Temeka as a decoy... ...then have given the ball to Seimoine to take the length... ...hell with UT running that trap they would have been better off throwing a long baseball pass down the court... ...there shouldn't have been ANY pressure to score because at worst you're going to OT... Hats off to Pat Summitt... ...she's got the heart of a pirate... ...and her girls stole the pass and the game at the same time
...at the end of a tie game the object is to at worse push the contest into overtime... ...the hurry at the end almost made it appear that LSU was losing, and NEEDING to score, not tied with a chance to go to OT... ...my point is if they were going to try to hurry the ball downcourt, at least try to use a different strategy than they had before... ...the way it played out it seemed that UT KNEW what LSU was going to try to do... ...and I could ALSO guess that there are some folks would say "Sue would have won it"...
I have no idea what games you were watching in making your critique of Tameka Johnson. The girl ended up with 50 assists and only 12 turnovers for the entire tournament. Do you realize that point guards are considered excellent if they can maintain a 2-1 ration assists to steals. A better than 4-1 ratio is outrageous. She is the best point guard in the nation IMO. Of course that's what is so ironic about how we lost, on a rare mistake by Tameka.
Bottom line is Pat did outcoach Pokey on that last play. It is really ashame that LSU's first final four did not have Sue Gunter on the sidelines. I am convinced that the last inbounds play would have not turned out so horrifically.
Right on. Tameka set the all-time tournament record for assists. She is also the player that knocked down a 15 foot game winner to get LSU to the Final Four. She holds the all-time assists record at LSU.... and Purple Jungle is critcizing her. :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:
Right again. Heck, let's just admit that you're right. Let's also admit that Pokey is capable of out-coaching Pat, and probably did just that at some point in the game that we just didn't notice. Finally, let's admit that even if we beat the Lady Vols, we don't win the final against UConn--dom. The Lady Conn--doms would win 8 out of 10 against the Lady Tigers.
That might be true, but I believe that we would have given UConn a better game than UT did last night... ...it was almost as if they realized that their luck was going to run out sooner rather than later...
