No, it wasn't pretty...but it's more important where you finish (top 5) than anything else. Just look at the Ohio State national title team that beat Miami in the Fiesta. All year long, that Buckeye team won UGLY, low-scoring contests with an offense that featured Clarett and NOTHING else....but ask any Buckeye fan if they're disappointed or embarrassed about that kind of season....
bottom feeder? lol what a f'in idiot you are Ok St made it to a bowl almost every year Let's not forget that he was recruiting against Stoops, Mack Brown, the guy from TT, who's name slips me right now, and Franchioni at A&M who is always a solid recruiter. Plus, Nick would go into Texas and Oklahoma and get some guys from time-to-time Add that with Kansas State being a national power, and I think Top 25 and bowl-games at a basketball school is pretty good for me!
I just did a rough count, but in the last 20 years only 13 mid-western schools have made it to the CWS. Wichita St. accounts for 6 of those appearences. I didn't notice any Big 10 schools. The only Big East school was Miami aside from the year ND made it. To take a mid western school is a remarkable feat. By contrast the SEC has put schools in the CWS 34 times in the last 20 years.
Other than a 2 loss season in '99, Saban lost at least 5 games every year at Mich St. Next ignorant complaint.
