1. Miles

Look what Les has done with inferior talent while at OSU.... Yes, they were ahead in several games this past season and ended up losing. What that shows me is that teams had underestimated them and founds a way to beat them... When he gets to LSU and has a chance to compete with real bluechip athletes, victories won't slip away from them.....:geaux:
  2. The more I read about Les Miles, the more I start to like him. I think that he has the right attitude for LSU, and it appears that he has the fire it takes to build programs for the future. He has been able to build the facilities at OSU and I think that he will be able to utilize the talent and resources that are available to him at LSU. Along with the X's and O's, Les Miles is known for his integrity. This is not something that I have heard yet on this board, but it is a very important trait that our next coach needs. So, to recap he has the fire, the integrity, and the knowledge to put a good football team on the field. I think that the future is bright for LSU football.

    Open mouth. Insert foot.

Too bad he isn't around anymore to rip on Miles' recruiting.

  6. Re: Jesus Christ

The Miles bashers have all but dissapeared. There's a lot of reasons to be optimistic about his future here.
  7. Re: Jesus Christ

People were also disappointed with Saban's hire too....I doubt anyone will admit it but everyone pointed at Saban's MSU record and doubted him big time.

Miles will prove a lot of faithful wrong and win another NC :)

    In the true style...

    That's awesome. :hihi:
  9. Re: Jesus Christ

There are some big differences between Saban and Miles prior to their respective coaching hires. First and foremost saban was courted like a runway model by the NFL, bill pollan, new york and others whereas miles was not. However, I do think saban's situation with probation and osu's primary school facilities is a wash. Like most on this board, I am optimistic about the future and I will not judge miles on his gameday coaching until after the florida game.
  10. Jimmy Johnson's record at OSU:
    1979 7-4-0
    1980 3-7-1
    1981 7-5-0
    1982 4-5-2
    1983 8-4-0

Then at Miami: (the year after they won the NC in 1983 under Howard)
    1984 8-5-0
    1985 10-2-0
    1986 11-1-0
    1987 12-0-0 won the NC
    1988 11-1-0

I'm sure Miami wasn't wild about getting Johnson after they won the NC the year before he arrived. Then as we all remember Jimmy did okay in the NFL.
