Boise State is a dang good football team. They would give most BCS schools all they want. Remember that Oregon State team that gave us all we could handle in Tiger Stadium and lost only because they couldn't kick an extra point? The very next week they went to Boise and got destroyed. In the first week, Utah also destroyed a pretty good Texas A&M team. Louisville went into the Orange Bowl and had Miami down on the ground bleeding, but couldn't finish the job. Next year, they will dominate the Big East. Let there be no doubt that those three teams can play ball on any level. Maybe not dominate, but play and give as good as they get, definitely. And even we, the mighty LSU Tigers, would be in for a war if we ever came into their house. Boise State is one of my favorite teams to watch. They play offense the very same way we play defense. They come right after you and never let off the gas. Every single play they are trying to score. Every single play they are trying to rip your heart out. They are not afraid to go vertical in the passing game; they do it all the time, matter of fact. I would love it if the Tigers would play them; it would be a heck of a game. Don't think it'll happen anytime soon, though. And I think the blue turf is very cool. :thumb:
Boise, Louisville and UTAh would give any defense fits, there D would be torn up by most good offenses, and they would lose at least 2 games if they had to play a very competitive schedule, being able to get up for the one or 2 big games is much easier than playing a schedule with several of them. But they are good teams and exciting teams to watch and Louisville would probably be undefeated if their QB hadn't gotten hurt vs the Canes. Playing at UGA, AU and UF like we did this year would have upset any of those teams apple cart this year, therefore I do not think any of them should be ranked as high as they are. But they do deserve to be in good to decent Bowl where they could play the best teams but the Bowl tie-ins prevent that. Boise/Louisville will be a very good game. Louisville is trying to fix their problem by joining the Big East as they couldn't get into the SEC or ACC. I think as far as Sports are concerned they would have been a much better match for the ACC than Boston College but they wouldn't have brought the millions of TV sets with them like BC did.
Boise State, Louisville, Utah all have very good teams this year and could give anyone in the country a run for their money...but...can they sustain it year after year? The major conferences maintain good programs with high quality athletes. WAC, MAC et al cannot remain at that level for more than a couple years at a time. I think you're right. If I'm not mistaken, the Big East was given BCS conference status while Miami was still being courted. Now that the Canes are locked in to the ACC, the BCS will tell them buh bye.
That's right, every now and then you have an exception to that but usually a program on the rise from a lower level conference loses their coach to a BCS school and their program goes down bigtime. The Big East may lose their BCS automatic berth, they have a few years to work on that. If Louisville can somehow win a few big games they could help the Big East but the events of this season are making it look pretty bad. The Big East teams had better play some real good teams OOC and beat them in order to keep that automatic berth. If they don't schedule upper tier teams they will probably lose it.
Hey I don't forget right or wrong This time I was right, Louisville was not 'a lot better' than Boise State. +1 for me
