Why should we? Contrary to USC's claim on the 2003 title, ours isn't based on the outcome of a season ending poll. The polls determine who PLAYS in the championship game, not who wins the NC.

We claimed our rightful championship as soon as the time hit :00 in the fourth quarter. We didn't wait to see what any poll said the next day.

I'm not happy about any of the "solutions" CFB is using. But media polls are especially irritating. Voters who work at ESPN and other media types think about this from a media standpoint. They're not interested in the best game on the field, but what matchup gets more televisions on and what game makes a better story. Go look up some of Bob Ryan's(Boston Globe) garbage the last three years. He admitted on "Sports Reporters" that LSU was a deserving team 2 years back, but wanted to see USC-OU because of "the horse and the tradition." This is the kind of mentality that keeps college football from having a playoff or teams from powerhouse conferences getting more love for NC matchup. People who don't really care about college football still want a say in the process so that they can see Notre Dame-Miami or USC-ND in a title game. They really could care less about any other team from "Flyover America" getting to the big show!
