BREAKING NEWS: Keys, Robinson dismissed from Crimson Tide football team Didn't Keys first commit to Nick in 2004 and then change to Bama after his high-school drug incident? Did Nick back away from Keys or did Bama just talk him out of it? Bama already lost a bunch of defensive players from last year, now two more. The Tide defense may be stretched thin this year.
These losses won't really hurt Bama's D this year. Robinson was not going to play and Keys had just been moved to LB, where he could have made an impact down the road. Most Bama fans are content with the move, which opens open more scholarships this year and thie ongoing discipline problems with Keys has been resolved.
This isn't an immediate impact type hit, but in a 12 game schedule in the SEC - you're going to need depth, and Bama just lost some of it.
Keys is a bama player who got in a fight with a teammate and suffered a season ending injury last year isn't he?
You're right. You always hate to lose a kid with good talent but Keys had become more of a problem than he was worth and Shula did the right thing by handing him is walking papers. Get rid of the dead weight and bring someone in who wants to play rather than act a fool.:thumb:
It ain't Terry's fault if there a couple of misfits in the pile, every team has a few. Shula did the right thing here. Bammers should be proud of that.
Sad thing is red55 is that these kids (with scholarships) at all these major universities don't realize what they've been given. The average person (like me) at that age would have given anything to play for the University of Alabama (or whatever your favorite college is) and yet you've got so many that waste it. Sad.:nope:
i wonder if these two got the tough treatment so that Shula wouldn't need to be quite as tough on a starter, Juwan Simpson? Things that make ya' go hmmmmmmm .....
If anyone thinks Erik Ainge would have gotten suspended for any games if he drove drunk... You can always lay the heavy hand on the third stringers.
