Some folks are pretty transparent - 'BamaCharles' was one of those. TF is way more tame than most boards and we like it that way.

    Cheers.

Tidefans is the lamest board on the planet. It is bizarre really. I check it out every now and then. If anything anybody says on it is even remotely against the general grain of thought, not praising the greatness of CNS or the tide, they are warned and then banned. It's true, check it out sometime if you don't believe it.

I posted there a couple of times but didn't say too much. One of the members asked about Miami and I thought (since I am in Miami every week) I would give him my opinion. I did and some guy jumped all over my azz and I decided that I would stick to my people.

Before that I said something about going to LSU/Bama games with my parents to Bama and somebody started to rip into me (I said we always had a wonderful time). Fishhead set them straight and explained I was in NO way a flamer and everybody relaxed alittle bit in that thread. But after the next one I decided that because I was a LSU fan that most I said was going to be disscredited so I said screw it and haven't posted in another forum other then this one since.

    But I didn't get banned!

TideFans is a damn good spot to lurk and get SEC football information. But you have to be veeeery careful what and how you post. Flaming, trolling, and talking smack will get you booted instantly with no warning. Defending your coach or showing some pride in your team isn't welcome either. You will likely be deleted or warned sternly.

Every board has its own style and one must either follow the local rules or don't post. TideFans is a zero tolerence zone and they say it right up front. TigerForums is more tolerant of visitors with some swagger, but we do delete inflammatory posts all the time and occasionally ban guests who don't behave. It works that way everywhere.

It ain't always what you say, but how you say it and when you say it. One can't just go to a rival forum and expect to be permitted to say what you can say here at home. I've posted on Tidefans for years without ever being deleted or banned. Been warned a time or two and offended many times, that's just the way it is. If your skin is too thin or your fuse is too short . . . best not visit rival boards.

that's where they are different from most boards. Having a reasonable discussion with a dissenting view is not allowed. Pathetic.

I don't think so - for example, there are several LSU posters who are regulars on TF who are great about posting information regarding what they think will happen in our games, coaching decisions, play-calling, etc. We're definitely more stringent than most boards, but we fishhead, red55, LSU63 and many more post there with some regularity without any grief.

We want the board to be open to all but without any flames, smack-talk, or trolls. Different strokes for different folks...

I've posted on that board for years and never had a run in with the mods. The rules are simple. There are many rival fans on the board and they contribute good info about their teams, but the mods are not going to let it get into a bunch of smack talk. And they let you know that up front.

This yahoo came on the board posing as an Alabama fan. Y'all know as well as I do that posers are easy to spot. They are the most irratating of all message board posters, at least to me.

As far as criticizing players and coaches is concerned, you can do it but you can't attack them. The mods strive to make people remember that these are just kids out there playing ball. They are not pros.

He was stating the obvious. That's something Alabama fans can't handle. So I am sure it did rub them the wrong way. Typical Bama Fans...you just can not hold a conversation with them.
