    Swerved,
I doubt your guy runs a legitimate 4.35. No one does.

I think that is an offical time from his track meets, really don't know if they used electronic times but you would think it would be close.

At least you hope he doesn't. And if he does, you're hoping he can't catch the football.

Who cares about the Pro method of determining a 40 time

    Fuggem' ...

High Schools use stop watches and start simultaneously when the runner takes off ... pros start electronically and add .15 seconds (on average) to a man's time ...

who gives a **** about splitting hairs over the numbers ... this is a college FB forum ... not a Pro combine ...

kids are equally timed in LSU's summer camps and LSU uses a traditional method of timing kids in the 40 ...

and our fastest kid ran a 4.32 ... and we at LSU have more right on hiz azz coming up this year ...

Brazell the Gazelle or XC the rocket ... my money's on Brazell

????????????I disagree. A lot of times when a guy is running in high school, it's a coach or a parent holding the stop watch. They know the kid is fast and they cut some time off the number. You don't really get objectively timed figures on most of them until you get to the combine. If track guys get faster all through college and into their early twenties, there is no way these guys get slower. Just because someone is adding muscle doesn't mean they are losing speed. Look at Gatlin and Green in the 100m, they are big boys, not some skinny whisp.

All i know is that I would be willing to put money on Bennie Brazell or Xavier Carter running against any other football player in the nation.

Doubt it you may, but the fact that he won the title in the 100, 200, and 400m races adds a little creditability in my opinion. I realize that they use stopwatches in highschool, but this kid's VERY fast...

"...Now, nobody in the history of Florida High School Track and Field has won more gold
medals than the Palm Bay senior.
Carter, who has been on the national track scene since he was a youngster, capped his
    high school career by winning the 100- (10.5 seconds), 200- (20.72) and 400 (45.44)-meter
dashes at the 2004 Class 3A FHSAA Track and Field Finals...."

"...He joined Houston McTear (1973-76) and Earnest Newcome (1925-27) as the only males to win
    nine state gold medals.
He became the first in FHSAA track meet history to win the three sprint events in
consecutive years. It was only the 10th time since 1915 the triple sprint win has been
accomplished, and Carter accounts for two of the 10.
He became the first male athlete to win the 400 meters four years in a row..."

I'm interested to see what his "official" time is....

    Geaux Tigers!

its similar to their heights and weights. they are always an inch or 3 taller and 10-40 lbs heavier. Garners more attention.

Xavier prolly runs pretty damn close to his....no need to pad a world sprinter's times in comparison to other football players.
