I talked to my folks in Houma. My dad called from my uncles landline. My parents landline is down and of course their cells are. The only damage was a hackberry tree fell on a greenhouse in our backard. The eternal optimist that is my dad said he wanted to tear the thing down anyway. I am flying into BR on Thursday, hopefully I will be able to make it to Houma to help my folks out. It was supposed to be to NOLA for a weekend of partying and football. So much for that. Does anyone know if I can get from BR to Houma?

Not sure, you should be able to go across the Sunshine bridge I would imaginThey arent letting anyone even near Kenner or New Orleans so my dad told me to stay put until they start letting people back in. So here I sit in Texas while my brothers and sisters suffer, and I can not STAND IT!

I know you can...although I don't know by what exact route. I'm from Galliano and I had several friends that stayed with other friends in Baton Rouge for the storm, and they all returned to the Houma/Thibodaux area this morning and yesterday, so you should be able to do the same as well.
