You may luck out on the ASU bet yet, Tirk :hihi:
Wasn't alive back in '69, but I've had my fair share of storms (May floods of '90 or '91) and near misses. On another note, just a gripe...I'm glad that they decided to come and fix my roof here in Gulf Breeze (damage from Ivan and Dennis) on FRIDAY, right before a storm is about to hit. Oh yeah, and they left a big open spot in the center of the roof, so there's nothing but a black tarp protecting it right now....these guys are friggin geniuses. We'll see how the roof holds up with the wind.
Ain't that a bitch! It may be a blessing with the hole. It may just keep the whole thing from blowing away! It's all in God's hands now anyway. It says in the good book, the wicked will be punished.
yeah i cant sleep either but some relatives in town are snoring.[/QUOTE] going through the samething here
It may have another cut, like Camille Cut. I hope not. It is raining pretty hard right now and the wind is really picking up.
Well it's 304 and the latest on the local channel is that there is some dry air getting sucked into the storm as it approaches the coast. Hopefully that will suck some of the power out of this bitch. Also, it looks as though a turn to the north to northeast is happening thus sparing NO the northeastern quadrant of the storm. When I wake up in the AM most of it will be over, so I hope the bitch slows down and goes east. See yall on the other side.
It's 3:15am in Huntsville, AL (CDT) and I'm still watching the coverage. Hope she goes enough East of N.O. to minimize damage but it still looks bad.
Looks like the west side of Katrina is drying out, which is good news for us in BR. It doesn't look all that bad for us. I don't think the winds will be anywhere close to what they are projecting for BR. Hopefully the power will stay on. The eye looks like it'll pass just to the east of New Orleans, which is good news. Let's hope the storm surge in the Lake is not as bad as projected and it doesn't overrun the levee. Mississippi coast seems like they will get hammered. Hope my favorite casino survives...
We are getting hit pretty hard right now. We are having strong gusts and losing windows here where we are staying. I can't believe we still have power.
