dirks already had been the starter on Sundays but Bumstead is scheduled for tomorrow. may have to slot nate on saturdays til Lane gets healed if he is hurt or correct something mechanically.

nah they fought back to tie it up twice.... its just one of those days. Ariz St ranked #8 is losing to cal 20-6. one guy pitched 1/3 inning...faced 10 batters gave up 8 runs... 1 earned. only in the 7th. bad day for them too.

Don't make too much out of a bad effort, though, I agree Mestepay is a concern. As far as our usually reliable bullpen giving up 7 runs? There's a saying that applies: "That's baseball". Harvard, who played ULL yesterday, played a 3 game series earlier this year where they gave up 18 runs in the 1st game, 30 in the second and won the 3rd one 5-1. Go figure.
