SST was told that for the first time in Nick Sabans tenture, the
Tigers had to TURN DOWN-----FOUR AND FIVE STAR RECRUITS---WHO WANTED TO COME TO LSU------NO SCHLORSHIPS AVAILABLE. Must be a real b*tch of a problem!!!

    Wouldn't Be Surprised

A lot would depend on the positions those guys play. I read recently that Nick is very happy with skill players, but is wanting to concnetrate on linemen now. And yes, it is a nice problem to have.

I like having the problem but it annoys me too. Just being greedy of course, I like to get everybody we can. I'd love to know which players it was. Then again maybe I don't.

It makes you wish for the good old days when you could sign as many players as you wanted just to keep the good ones from signing with somebody else. Bear Bryant used to sign 60 or 70 recruits every year.

So did this come from Saban's mouth?

I don't know what this SST is all about, maybe someone can enlighten me.

I mean yeah I can see 4 star recruits being turned down, but it's really far fetched that 5 star recruits are being turned down. There are not that many out there.

Does anyone else have trouble with this statement?

Sounds like someone overtooting the LSU horn.

It is surely true that there are 3-star players in Louisiana that won't be offered by Nick this year, who only has about 8 left. But I imagine he's all over any 4 and 5-star players interested in LSU.

I don't think he's BSing. I've heard this before. Supposedly very late last year we had to turn down some very good players. Again, this was during last years recruiting.

I did. I heard on SST. I gave my reference. That's all I know. True? DAMN IF I KNOW. But if I were you, I would certainly rather hear that there were good ones that we did not have room for than to hear that we were not able to reach the really good ones. :thumb: And it seems like I heard it was said by other asst. coaches---not Saban.
