Getting close to Draft time, I'll start posting a little info as it gets closer.

102 Early Entries this year, last year it was 73, in 2012 it was 65 and 56 for 2011.

    This years breakdown at position:

    20 RB's
    20 WR's
    16 DB's
    11 DE
    10 TE's
    7 DT
    6 OT
    4 LB
    4 QB
    2 OC
    2 OG

    By Conference:

    28 SEC
    26 Pac-12
    12 ACC
    9 FCS*
    7 American
    5 Independent
    5 MW
    4 Big Ten
    3 Big 12
    2 CUSA
    1 Mid-American

*= Schools in the Football Championship Subdivision.

This is by far the deepest draft I've seen ever. Many first round picks, because of the number of players, will fall into the second round and so on. This looks to be the deepest draft with the WR position ever, too much talent. Other positions that are better than average, QB, RB, DE, CB and Safety.

OBJ is one that can come in from day one an help most teams right away. Return Punts and Kickoffs, knows the NFL route tree. A year in Cams offense can't hurt. Most have the Panthers taking OBJ with the 28th. pick. Don't see him there, gone by then. The Saints pick right before the Panthers with the 27th pick, but once again, I see OBJ gone before the 27th pick. The Saints might have a shot at a LSU WR, Landry in the second round, if hes still around by then. The good WR's will be off the board early. Too many teams looking for help at WR and needing to draft these guys early. Like I said, don't know if Landry will be around at that time. Teams are gonna get a couple good players in OBJ and Landry. Remember, Carolina will need a WR, do they pick one in the first round?

I see Landry being picked not far from OBJ, he too can help teams, he doesn't shy away from going across the middle. Can do too many things well. Could be a gunner of special teams. Look for him to run a good time in LSU's Pro Day.

The Saints getting OBJ would make alot of people forget about Darren Sproles, even though Sproles is listed as a tailback, we all know his specialty was catching passes out of the backfield. OBJ could be used the same way in the slot, catching passes around the LOS, returning punts, and kicks. What would be really cool is if the Saints could land them both, OBJ and Landry. Would give me a reason to start rooting for the Saints again. Hard to do now with the gumps and aubies on that team.

There is some talk of 6-8 WR's going in the first round this year. OBJ is said by many as the first Tiger taken. He does too many things well, the year under a Cam offense helps without a doubt. There are too many teams looking for help at WR, an with OBJ, his return game moves him up.

Some like the Evans kid out of A&M, I'm not as high on him. I looked at his game against LSU this pass year. Caught 4 passes for 51 yards. He was fighting with RR every play. Robinson came in out of high school, had to get cleared and still gave Evans everything he could handle. Robinson was fresh out of high school, what happens when Evans has to go up against a seasoned veteran CB in the NFL? Evans could cost his team a penalty at the wrong time in the NFL. His downside, route running, the loss of poise and focus at times. He did well against smaller and the weaker CB's in college, we'll see how he does in the Pros. Was helped a lot by JFootball this year.

Back to OBJ, I see him in the first round, the right team needing a WR, KR and PR now. He has elevated his game as a WR so much more this year.

I also see Jarvis Landry getting picked not too far from OBJ, don't know if he sneaks into the 1st round, but shouldn't last long in the second. He isn't shy about going across the middle, he and OBJ had some laser shots thrown to them by Mett. Landry could come in from day one an be a gunner on Special Teams, hes that good. His downfield blocking is another main plus. He is just so smooth in his route running, getting in position for the catch. Landry is one of those WR that gets into his route, then shows his number to the QB, making him an easy target.

FWIW I was just browsing on a Steelers site where the fans feel that the Steelers require a WR at some point in the draft, and would have taken a WR in rounds 1-2 had they not recently signed Lance Moore. The thought seems to be that with Lance Moore they have the freedom to take a WR later and develop him, but they'll still grab one early if the draft shakes out such that a WR is value at the time.
