Don't forget LSU beat Rice 5-4 in the 1997 CWS, and Rice beat LSU twice in the 1995 regional (gorilla ball games). Regarding Rice's Audio feed ... the guy doing play by play is Rice's Marketing director - the other one is a student. Generally, at any given time, one of the announcers is a student - sometimes they'll rotate an underclassman in since one of the announcers is graduating. As for anything negative they've said, it seems to me that generally they've said that the Box is a hitters park, and that Smoke Laval has been under a lot of pressure due to high expectations in spite of taking them to the CWS every year except 2002. They expected that would show up in the fans if Rice got on top of LSU. They've been impressed by the knowledge of LSU fans and they're behavior against Marist. I don't see much of anything they've said as controversial. Class act of the LSU fans as Savery left the field. As you see more of the regional, you'll appreciate how good Joe Savery is, both as a hitter and pitcher.
I'd rather not. I think we were just complaining because the Rice guys were just picking out reasons that they didn't like the Box and it just came across as being extremely negative (like the dugout thing?).
