Spurrier doesn't coach. He hires other people to coach.

And at our level is one of the best.

But he is not coming here under any circumstances.

Erickson would have had Cecil Collins for four years despite the charges. No way to the guy that ran Jimmy Johnson's program into the dirt. He's had to have people come behind him and clean up his mess wherever he has been. San Fran is next...

You assume Jimmy Johnson was clean, and Erickson came in and dirtied the program. Perhaps it was Erickson who inheirted a dirty program from a "win-at-all-costs" ego-maniac?

Wake up people. I can't believe some of the choices listed here. (Deenis Erickson - are you freakin kidding me?) We need to stick with a defensive minded coach. Top three replacements:

    1. Jack Del Rio - will be tough to pry away from the NFL
    2. Romeo Crennel
    4. John Gruden - not really defensive minded, but he's a gret motivator and would would be a great recruiter.

Absolutely no to Erickson. He made the jump once in leaving Miami for Seattle, but doing it *twice*, in light of the Saban situation, crosses him off of the list.

Let's not get all wrapped up in has-been, "name" guys at the expense of wanna be's who, like Saban in 1999, was just waiting for his big chance.

Will never, ever happen. Not sure what makes people think he would even think of coming here after just signing onto South Carolina where he can win 7-8 games for 2-3 years under not a lot of pressure and still play golf every other day.

Not a chance on Gruden, not so sure if Del Rio is a great choice, Crennel is very interesting and worth checking out but many say he is in line for a head NFL gig.

i hope that butch davis is given a hard look and that he reconsiders his statement that he wants to take off this upcoming football season for health reasons. other than that i don't know - maybe we can find a coach that is off the radar screen.
    1. butch davis
    2. cals coach
    3. louisville coach

other than those three i comes to a lot of factors that i can't gather in one thread.
