SC fan thanks for the clear up, Kiff might not be ready but he is our coach and there is no changing that. He has sparked a fire in our offense no doubt about it coming back from a 17-0 deficit to take the lead 21-20. something that would have never have happened last year. A raider Qb throwing for two 2ds and 312 yards, getting curry the ball. Our offense is much improved. However that is not what my focus is on .

J.Russ is are man, and I will have faith in him till he proves me otherwise. It sounds like with some good coaching sky is the limit with this guy, the same can be said for the Raiders. Yes we have fallen on some tough times, but we are rebuilding and will be back. We dominated in the early millen till around 2004. Playoff appearances, divisional champs, AFC championship win:crystal: , Superbowl appearance. We will be back, and dont forget we still have Michael Bush, but looking foward to see what J.Russ has.

Yes I have been watching LSU, great D.:thumb:

The only drawback Russell had early was his lack of "seeing the field". As he grew he gained that skill. No doubt there will be a learning curve in the NFL and I'm hoping the Raiders don't throw him to the wolves too early. If he comes along gradually he will be a stud.

Welcome to the board. This will be one draft choice Raider fans will be happy with. Russell has all the tools to be a great QB. He has so much confidence in his skills that he sometimes thinks he can do things he cannot. Once he learns the difference and matures a little bit, he will shine.

Welcome! I'm new here myself and this is a great place to be!

I think Kiffin is gonna be a very good coach for the Raiders. They might not win a lot of games but I think they will suprise some people this year.

Sitting out this year is probably a good thing for JR, even though we all want him to play right away I don't think he was/is ready to start. One thing JR is not lacking is confidence he's not some wanna be that the coaching staff will have to keep crowing about like Vick, Harrington, and a few others to keep their ego intact. He has all the tools he just needs to learn the mental part of being a NFL QB.

If your offensive line can give him some protection, watch out! JR has the strongest arm I've ever seen and is the only person I've witness literally flick the ball with his wrist for 60 yds falling backwards. He can throw it about 90 when really trying.

Raw talent for sure. And when it comes to game winning drives, I'd want him on my team anyday. Despite what some people think, JR is pretty smart and his time at LSU helped him to mature into a fairly wise quarterback who seemed to grasp the game quite well. I would expect that trend to continue if he is able to get a strong supporting cast around him. He needs to work on selling the play-fake but with the right QB coach that should get sorted out rather quickly.

P.S. If we had our new offensive coordinator last season, I don't think that he would have gone unnoticed to you. I say that because he would have be in New York winning the Heisman. Dude's got that much potential.

The wolves are Howling already. He will be great but he is going to have a rough couple of years to start with

He's special. If your O-line can give him a few seconds he can get the ball anywhere on the field no matter where he's at.

He is the Glen Dorsey of QB's and can throw a ball 80 yards on one knee while pinning Brady Quinn down with the other one... ok.. so maybe I put a little too much on that one... :hihi:
