I am not worried about losing Thomas, We don't get alot of East Saint John players anyways. Kirston Pittman was the first in a while. I don't care as long as we go after Ryan Perrioloux (sp) and he dont go to the hurricanes. Plus I think we will get Jay Lucas and I think he is better than Thomas.
Lucas is bigger and almost as fast, will take the lickin' and keep on kickin', the type coach Saban wants ... and he's the mentally sharper of the two per reports from the grapevine. http://interact.fansonly.com/recruiting/pros_card.cfm?recruit_id=135&sport=football&dbyear=03 Thomas is also a Hodge 150 star http://interact.fansonly.com/recruiting/pros_card.cfm?recruit_id=421&sport=football&dbyear=03 Hey, they can't all play for LSU! Jakouri williams is another Hodge 150 who won't go to LSU http://interact.fansonly.com/recruiting/pros_card.cfm?recruit_id=156&sport=football&dbyear=03 Lucas is the best of the three and can pick his ticket. Will Jay go to LSU? He loves LSU and has attended many games? What do his chances to play look like? Not too good for the next two years Even if LSU doesn't get Jay, it's not the end of the world. When all is said and done, I think he'll be a Tiger.
The Advocate publishes the statewide stats of high school players and Perriloux looks like he has the credentials to be one of the national blue chippers at the QB position. The problem is that he would come in to a team that just last year signed two of the highest rated QBs in JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn. I think LSU will have a hard time signing top rated QBs until we see what Russell and Flynn can do and if they are as good as they are supposed to be blue chip HS QBs might want to go elsewhere until Russell and Flynn are a couple of years older and a kid signing in 2005 or 2006 can see himself getting a shot at the starting job within his early college years.
I have heard we stand pretty well with Perriloux. Redshirt him and he will be two years behind Flynn and Russell...I could see him definitely signing with us...
