Guys, the game plan was to run on South Carolina. They are ranked #104 in rushing defense. We passed for 70 yards--there just wasn't enough passes available for Byrd and Tolliver . . . or for Perrilloux for that matter.

The friggin' kicker rushed for a TD. Your grandma could have rushed against South Carolina. Les' emphasis in a rain game is ball protection and we protected it well with the running game. We didn't need the pass to win this one.

Byrd and Tolliver are going to be surprises for Florida. They don't have much video on them. Why give them some? They'll expect Perrilloux to run every time he come into the game, too. They don't have a lot of video on RP tossing passes around the field. Why give them some?

Well, he's only a sophomore and the same could be said for Doucet early on in his career. He played a great game last week, so I'll chuck this up to the rain before I say he's got bad hands.

    thank you red.

also, it's a shame that the bad game jared mitchell had directly after his great game last week is the one that gets emphasized.

also, he had a punt return td brought back by needless bad blocks. he's a player, people need to understand that.

I know that it was just MTSU, but he looked pretty strong against them...especially on YAC.

This is only the second game he's played significantly in, and he looked very good as a WR last week against MTSU.

Let's not rush to judgment. He'll get his chance again next weekend.

Gee, don't you think the slippery weather conditions just might have had something to do with that?

Mitchell was disappointing, no doubt. But he's young and the previous points about Doucet and Bowe starting slow are wisdom.

More than Mitchell's buttery fingers, I was a little disappointed that the running game didn't open up some big time passing plays.

Yes it was wet, but the Cocks (who don't throw well) didn't seem to mind - 244 yards passing (I think).

Yes, they have very good corners. So do we - see previous comment.

Flynn was playing probably at 70%.

Put all three together (wet, good pass D, injured QB) and suddenly we see why maybe we weren't able to connect with more than 4 receivers.

Here's a bigger stat - 4/14 on third down conversions. OUCH! That sucketh.

I kinda like this one: Total points scored: 28-16.

    Yes, yes - I agree.

But what's the point of a message board if you can't do a little tiny bit of hand-wringing. :hihi:

    C'mon.

Surely you're not THAT relaxed about it?
