Not true. They just ain't running yet. And they have learned . . . the early front-runners (Hillary) will get the entire Karl Rove smear campaign. Late entries (like Wesley Clark last time) won't.

Oh, but they can! The GOP can lose the House this fall very easily.

I was speaking more about the mid-terms. I don't see the Dems having enough ammo to retake the House. They just don't have anything to offer ecxept not being Republicans.

That's a big offer at this point. Even in the mid terms. The Republicans are getting a ton of negative impact from the citizens right now. The democrats are just going to stay quiet and let it happen. Why start running for office and putting out proposed new agendas to get shot at by the GOP? As long as the GOP keeps falling in the polls, the Democrats have no need to turn perception around.

Democrats will just let the party in control, the party responsible for the loss of public trust, roast on the spit a little longer. The Republicans--it's their party and they can cry if they want to. Democrats will not give the Republicans any opportunity to change the subject until right before the election. Then they will shine a spotlight on republican greed, arrogance, corruption, and incompetence.

Karl Rove toughened the Democrats. The gloves are off and they will not make the same mistakes again. Perhaps they don't have a master plan for retaking the House in 2006 and the White House in 2008 . . . but don't bet the farm on it.

They don't even have to win, then can just let the GOP lose.
