1. Was it Billy Joe "Deuce" McCallister who jumped off the Tallahachie Bridge?
  2. No way, bro. Every Tiger fan of that era knows who Demetrius 'Effin' Hoofkin is.

I remember one year against Arkansas, there was a smattering of 'boos' when he was introduced on senior day. I always thought that was bullchit by those who were doing it. Even though it was only a few, I feeling sorry for him. He rewarded my sympathy by getting burned for 2 80 yard TD passes on back to back possessions. Luckily, we still found a way to win, but it was still no excuse for those a-holes who booed him on Senior Day.

    Exactly. Perfect description. :thumb:

  3. For this topic you gotta separate 1967-2008 from 2009. Pre '09 there is Archie, Abramawicz, Hebert, Hilliard, the Dome Patrol, Eric Martin, Morton Andersen,
    Roaf, Horn, ect.

Now its Brees. Colston, Henderson, Jonathon VILMA, Sharper, Bush, Shockey, Fujita with special kudos to the man who made the biggest play at the 11th hour, Tracey Porter

  4. Not sure how I left Porter off my list. That guy vaulted into the top 5 for good after the Favre pick, much less the deal sealing P/6 in the SB and he will never be replaced.
  5. For the rest of his life he will never have to pay for a drink or a meal in The Big Easy

You must still be living in that van down by the river if you never heard the country song by Jeanie C Riley "The day that Billy Joe McCallister jumped off the Tallahachie Bridge"
  7. Or it could be that I just don't listen to country music. Thanks for clarifying though. :thumb:

  8. Tolliver was a career backup who Ditka tried to make into a starter. No dice.

Hobert, on the other hand, had potential. His "I didn't read the playbook" moment in Buffalo aside, he came in and showed promise when we first got him. Then a classic turf injury ended his career prematurely.
  9. Um, Bobbie Gentry sang that song:yelwink2:
  10. Correct, and in the movie "Ode to Billy Joe" (based on the song) Billy Joe was played by Tommy Lee Jones.
