1. LSU vs Florida 1997 2. LSU vs Tenn. 2001 -- last LSU game as a resident of Louisiana. Moved to Boston the following weekend. 3. LSU @ Tenn. 2006 4. LSU vs Ole Miss 2006 -- They had us scared, didn't they?? 5. LSU vs Auburn 2003 -- Even though we kicked the crap out of them and it wasn't much for a nail-biter, this game gets one of my top 5 votes because we had sideline seats--the closest to the Tiger Stadium turf and players I've ever been. It made it all seem so much louder being down there--which was perfect because I had a friend who is a Longhorn and he was amazed! :thumb:
1. Florida '97 2. @ Bama '05 3. Auburnt '03, wasn't it 21-0 at end of 1st qtr? (2 pints of Beam) 4. Tenn in OT, was it '01? 5. @ Florida '01, when Mauck got hurt. Helluva whuppin up until that point
+1! When I read the title to this thread that was the only game that entered my mind. I was telling a couple of guys about that game 2 days ago. They were the starting QB and TE for Middle Tenn and they are excited about playing in Tiger Stadium this coming season.
1. LSU vs Oklahoma 03- We brought a sign that said "We got the MAGIC back!" 2. LSU vs. Bama 05- Had a blast with my fellow Tiger fans while beating Bama in OT. Hubby held out hope they were going to win in the end. Ohh sweet victory. (We on again this year Grad and LSUFan71?) 3. LSU vs FL 97 I was in high school but still rushed the field with friends. Perks of working the concession stand in the fraternity section... 4. LSU vs MSU 03 We brought friends from State into the student section with us. We won in OT and stormed the field, leaving our friends in the stands. The guys met us at Mikes cage later... 5. ANY NIGHT GAME IN TIGER STADIUM
1. LSU vs Georgia - 2003 (Easily #1; the rest are more difficult) 2. LSU vs Oklahoma - 2003 3. LSU vs Auburn - 2001 4. LSU vs Florida - 1997 5. LSU at Arizona St. - 2005
1. 1983 - LSU v. Florida State The winner went to the Orange Bowl. The stadium was rockin', and a heavy fog moved in from the River in the second half. Dalton Hilliard took over the game after halftime, and it rained oranges. 2. 1983 - LSU v. Alabama in Birmingham It was LSU's last game against the Bear. LSU dominated from start to finish, and that was, by far, the best I ever saw an LSU defense play against the option. It was incredible. 3. LSU v. USC (don't remember the year, late 70's) A game that was literally ripped from the Tigahs by the refs. Though the good guys lost, it was NOT for lack of effort. USC, then ranked #1 or #2, had to score in the last seconds to pull out the win. 4. 1977 - LSU v. Rice World, meet Carlos Carson. Carlos caught five passes, all for TD's as LSU rang up 77 points on the hapless Owls. Fun game to watch for a 15-year-old. 5. 2007 LSU v. Arkansas I know the game hasn't been played yet, but I'm planning to return to Tigah Stadium for the first time since 1991. The fact that my wife and my little girl will be making their first trips to LSU will put the game in my Top 5. GEAUX TIGAHS!!!!
1. Ole Miss 1972 - Bert Jones to Brad Davis w/ 1 second left. 2. USC 1979 - Shoulda won. 3. Auburn 1988 - The Earthquake Game. 4. Colorado 1972 - My first. 5. Florida State 1982 - Oranges Oranges 6. (Can't count) Nebraska 1976 = 6-6,Tie
Absolutely. I still haven't chastized those who said they were gonna meet us at the gas station in Diamondhead the morning we left out, they were all NO SHOWS.
While my top 5 games would definitely include the NC and 2003 UGA but Im going to list 5 games that have not been as widely mentioned on this thread (1) 1996 Houston @ LSU ----- trailing 34-14 entering the fourth quarter the Tigers came back behind a punt return by Kevin Faulk and a long TD run by Mealey. When Faulk returned the punt Tiger Stadium was shaking. This was a an all-time great comeback. (2) 2002 Sugar Bowl LSU v. Illinois ----- this game makes my list because in my opinion this is the game and season that gave LSU national significance and the momentum began to be built for a NC the next season. And the Dome was rocking for LSU's first Sugar Bowl victory and New Years day victory since 1968. (3) 2003 LSU @ Ole Miss ----- The UGA game gets the most hype from 2003 because both teams were top 5, but the Ole Miss game was too close for comfort and the atmosphere in Oxford was pumped up becasue the Rebs thought they had a shot to knock off LSU behind Eli, but those fantasies were thrashed and of course the Tigers went on to win the NC. (4) 2005 Auburn @ LSU ----- This was an overtime thriller and a game that LSU's defense was dominated in a season that had too many close calls, but this makes my list because it symbolizes the intimidation of Tiger Stadium. John Vaughn a great field goal kicker misses 5 FGs including a potential game winner and game tieing FG in OT. This follows the Oregon State game and the 2003 Georgia game where other top notch kickers were overcome by Tiger Stadium and wilted under the pressure. (5) 1995 Auburn @ LSU --- this makes my list because it was the first big win that I witnessed in Tiger Stadium.
