    The defense audibles just as much as the offense, which isn't much. Half the time, they're wandering around looking confused. I'm not saying it's all Beckwith, but Baker shouldn't be a step down, that's for sure.

    True, but I remember watching Beckwith find the ball on ST and lay some licks and thinking "MAN, I can't wait until he finds his way to the starting lineup!" Everytime a tackle was made on ST, number 48 was there. Well, I got my wish and he's been a disappointment.

    We do this with every position. The backup is always better. Every now and then, we're right...but it's not often.

    Beckwith has basically been injured since the early part of last year. His sophomore season, he was an absolute beast of a linebacker. I have to think that his knee is giving him more trouble than anyone truly knows.

    I agree with this, too. It's not like DB is horrible, but he has been hampered with injuries the last couple of seasons; however, I don't think he is as hampered this year, and he has shown that he is a better LB when he is surrounded by better LBs. It may be a while before we get another Bradie James, who was a monster everywhere all the time.
