i know Mark May must absolutely HATE this dude

The funniest thing about all this is that NO ONE even acknowledges Trev and his Nebraska rant. They totally put him on IGNORE. Classic.

Part 2,309 would be Alberts on Gameday last Saturday talking about how Cedric Benson put up monster numbers against New Mexico State last year and that's why it didn't matter how good he looked against North Texas.

Uh, Trev, Benson ran for 40 yards against New Mexico State last year.

Mark May used to try to argue...now he basically ignores what he says.

There is a fine line between provocation and total ignorance on Trev's part. And ESPN won't be able to put him out there on the air after this year.

    lol figures. I missed it.

So, what did your nay sayers think of your game last week? Has to make you quite worried a team with 1 returner on offense could run all over you that way. I couldn't believe what I was watching.

what are the mac brown groupies saying to defend him?

Really, I didn't expect it to be a blowout. Going on the road in a tough environment like that in a major rivalry game, I was expecting a dogfight to the end. Cedric Benson is probably the best running back in the country right now, and Vince Young looks improved as a passer and with his footwork. That being said, there were a lot of problems. A lot. Defense was shaky at times. Wide receivers dropping way too many balls and running wrong routes. Vince Young making a bad decision here and there. A missed field goal. I could go on. They did a lot of things right, but they did a lot of things poorly.

In the end, I think Texas will lose to OU yet again and likely go 10-1 because of how weak the Big 12 is this year. My guess would be that the winner of the Texas/OU game goes 11-0 in the regular season. While this Texas team might not be as good as the 2001 one, this may be their best chance to get to a BCS bowl because of the conference.

Cedric Benson is damn good, no doubt. And Vince Young has made marked improvement in his passing. I am still pissed at Arkansas' clock management at the end of the game. Texas was even worse with clock management and almost gave the game away.

man, I know you expected a decent game but the way matt jones and co. moved the ball on your defense was surreal. I figured that defensive front to dominate the newbies on UA. I know a win is a win...same way LSU squeaked by OSU but there were no elements to deal with in this one. Im not sure how you can take anything from it besides a fat W. UA ran for almost 200 yds and threw for close to 300. wow.

Young looked passive in his reads and tucked it and ran many more times than he needed. benson is a good back....hes a big bruiser compared to most college backs and can inflict some pain. I see this game as a sign of serious holes in this team I did not expect. I guess im fickle like the media but i finally thought UT had a shot this year vs OU. Now I think no way at all without serious changes. mainly coaching. can't blame the offensive coordinator anymore. its way deeper than that.

and be careful about 10-1....teams will only improve, especially those big 12 teams with a loss already. could spell doom for UT and shatter that BCS opportunity again.

They certainly can. But the main two that I would be scared of improving are Kansas State and Nebraska. Texas has neither one on the schedule.

Rice, Baylor, vs. OU, Missouri, @Texas Tech, @Colorado, Oklahoma State, @Kansas, Texas A&M is what's left.

Who knew that OSU and @Kansas might turn out to actually be two of the toughest teams that Texas will play this year?

That was pretty sickening. I couldn't believe what I was watching as Vince Young ran the ball out of bounds.

As for the Texas defense, I'm not way too worried about it yet. It was a pretty average outing for them, but its still a new coordinator and they're probably still settling in and getting used to new things. Unfortunately, with Rice and Baylor left, Texas won't really get another good chance to see the improvement of the defense before the OU game.

Even before that when Benson ran for a first down and then pretty much headed for the sidelines. I just don't get that. But that is more coaching than anything else. If clock management is beaten into these kids heads like it should be, then Benson runs back toward the middle of the field after realizing he has a first down and keeps the clock running. I doubt seriously that clock management has even been discussed in UT practices or team meetings. It sure didn't look like it.
