    1986 LSU Sugar Bowl / Final Four / College World Series

    1988 Oklahoma Orange Bowl / Final Four / CWS

    Reaching all three is a special year. Has any other school accomplished this feat? Please, BCS Bowls only.

    this year for texas. Cotton bowl, final four, CWS, WCWS, Women's final four.

    To win a trifecta in horse racing don't you have to be the WINNER in all three? So winning the CWS, MNC, and Final Four would be a trifecta.

    Yeah you're right Bayou, but I would change the definition for college sports since winning three major college championships would deserve a word far more deserving than "trifecta." Has that ever happened?

    The answer is no. Just looking at the past champions from basketball and the CWS, no school has ever one both events in the same year.

    According to the ESPN announcer, this year is the first time a school (Texas) has had a top 10 finish in football and final fours in mens basketball, womens basketball and the CWS. Something for LSU to shoot for (and surpass) in '03-'04.

    Trifecta is competeing for all three. Winning all three would be the perfecta.
