East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office detectives arrested two homeless illegal immigrants Tuesday night involved in the Monday shooting of a 27-year-old man at 10870 Cherry Hill Drive, according to affidavits of probable cause.
Maikin Medina, 20 was booked with attempted second-degree murder and illegal discharge of a firearm and Jarin Joel Muenguia, 25 was booked with principal to attempted second-degree murder and principal to illegal discharge of a firearm, the affidavits says.
According to the affidavits, Medina is accused of shooting the victim multiple times with a semi-automatic handgun. Muenguia is accused of driving Medina to the scene of the shooting and standing by as Medina shot the victim, the affidavit says.
The victim was shot once in the mouth, once in the chest area, the right leg, the left hand and the right arm, according to the affidavit.
A third suspect in the shooting was arrested before Medina and Muenguia.
The Sheriff's Office booked 25-year-old Arturo Nunez Cerno, 25 with principal to attempted second-degree murder and principal to illegal discharge of a firearm, according to a news release.
