I love the hypocrisy of the author. The statement reads,"Mr. Trump believes that President Obama was born in the United States" NBC jumps: Its the campaign saying that, not Trump! But what started it all was a tweet in which Trump put out, "An 'extremely credible source' has called my office and told me that @BarackObama's birth certificate is a fraud." In other words, Trump said he was told it was fake; he didn't say it was fake himself. But in NBC's view, its the same thing.
