The Tube will never take Auburn to the top. This is great news, they could be dangerous with a good coach.

And when Auburn has to buy him out it will cost them $3 million!

and you are basing this on?

    1) The fact that he inherited a team that was last in the nation in rushing and probably had 5-6 legit D1 Players
    2) The fact that he has won West once outright and been labeled co-champs two other years (Granted I'd rather have the title)
    3) The fact that he is 3-1 vs. LSU
    4) He has had Auburn in the Top 15 in recruiting the last 2 years (we'll see about this year)

I realize you guys hate Tubby, that's fine. Even though its based on class and he knelt on the ball as time ran out on your 2 yard line, and declined a PI on the last drive b/c it would have given us more yards.

But I can't understand how a coach can accomplish what he has at Auburn - especially with the mass-rebuilding project he had that CTB left behind - and be judged in this manner.

I can as easily say that Saban will never bring LSU to the top (I'm assuming by 'top' you mean NC). . . as Tubby has gotten just as close (12th in nation vs. can't remember exactly where you finished last year) . . . .

Chuck, Auburn is a fine school, all of my Alabama relatives went there. Auburn has a fine football program and a damn good BBQ joint. Never have I dissed the school or it's players or downplayed their successes.

I just don't like Tuberville. It's entirely personal. When I say he'll never take Auburn to the top, I base that on wholehearted, bigoted, character assasination. I don't think he has "the right stuff". I credit Auburn's successes to the players and I blame Auburn's failures on the Tube. I don't care for his style. And his ears are too big.

If he does earn a National Championship ring, I still won't like him. But, I'll shut up about him.
