I was under the impression that after the failed firing of Tubby before the Iron Bowl that year when the Pres over there and a board member or two took Lowder's jet to see Petrino (Spelling?) that Tubby pretty much was sitting on top of the house now. Now, I realize that Lowder is the man but somehow Tommy made it through that with a huge contract and now has a good staff and a good team (that hurt to say more than I can express here). I can not imagine any reason why you would leave such a situation for something like Arkansas. And no offense to Arkansas either. Somethings don't make sense and this can not be one of those "stranger things have happened" moments. Not to mention I thought if F. Broyles would have wanted Nutt gone, he would have canned him right off. Not asked for a second meeting. I understood they were meeting a second time to discuss "other" staffing changes. I could be wrong...
I wouldn't blame Tommy for wanting to leave. He feels like the school went behind his back to try & replace him. I'm sure he still has some ill-will about that. Arkansas has some young talent & a team that hasn't ever really done anything, where he would be given time to build the program & become a competitor. If it's true that there's a way around the buy-out & Arkansas is willing to pay Tubbs, I think it's a possability.
